Dr. Peter Chen, DDS

Associate Surgeon

Dr. Peter Chen, was born and raised in New York City. He attended the prestigious Stuyvesant High School, and proceeded to attended Stony Brook University on scholarship, graduating with his B.S. degree in Chemistry with Research Honors. He continued to pursue a Master’s degree in Chemistry on a full scholarship and stipend, which he used to apply to Medical and Dental School. After being accepted to both Medical and Dental School, Dr. Chen went on to pursue dentistry with a focus on Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.

He attended the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine on scholarship, graduating in the top 10% with an OMS concentration. Following Dental school, he returned home to complete his General Practice Residency at the Bronx Veterans Affair Medical Center, where he focused on complex surgical and restorative implant treatments. Dr. Chen continued his training in a rigorous 4 year OMS residency training with NYU School of Medicine affiliate, NYC Health + Hospitals Woodhull, in Brooklyn, NY. During residency he completed Anesthesia, General Surgery, ENT, Intensive Care, and Internal Medicine rotations, culminating with being Chief Resident of Woodhull Hospital and Bronx Care Hospital, and being named resident of the year. Dr. Chen went on to become an attending and professor with New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medicine, where he performs complex oral and maxillofacial surgery, along with training Oral Surgery and Dental residents. Dr. Chen also continues to see patients in the private office setting.

Dr. Chen spends his free time with his friends and family. He enjoys the arts with his wife, a classically trained pianist. Their two children keep them very busy, with his 7-year- old daughter aspiring to be a “Ballerina-Dentist” and his 4-year-old son always finding new adventures. Dr. Chen is a senior member of his Church, and always tries to volunteer and participate in medical missions.
